 Boys
and Girls Club programs are developed in response to the local needs of
children, youth and families in communities across Canada. Kids like our
programs because they’re fun and parents like them because they’re safe,
reputable and reliable. Club programs aim to enrich the development of children
of all ages, by fostering in each child a sense of belonging, personal
empowerment, achievement, and self-confidence. Programs also offer children
opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their
full potential in life.
Club programs also address the need in communities nationwide for providing
children and youth with safe, stimulating places to go - particularly during the
after-school period between 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. This is when young people,
left unsupervised, are at highest risk of being victimized or drawn into
delinquent or criminal activities.
Club programs look different from club to club, but all focus on four key
areas of healthy child development, addressing the top concerns of Canadian
parents today about their children’s well-being and development:

In tackling issues that are close to the heart of every
community and believing in the positive potential of Canadian children, we are
making our communities better places to live and grow up - and building Canada’s capacity for future success.
