The Digital Arts Contest is a great opportunity for you and your friends at Boys and Girls Clubs to explore your digital potential!

Have fun while learning “hands-on” about what it’s possible to create using digital technology. You can create your own mini movie, in this case a Public Service announcement, using the computers,  software and equipment available at your club, at school and at home!

Don't let your inexperience with new media and computer technology prevent you from entering the Digital Arts Contest! Tech and program support are available from BGCC National Office. Please contact our Cantech coordinator, John Jack or our Program coordinator, Marisa Silver for more information.

NEW THIS YEAR

Don’t Get Caught in the Web:
Online Safety and Cyberbullying Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest

Create a Public Service Announcement (PSA), no more than 90 seconds in length, that speaks to the issue of online safety and/or cyberbullying. What does it mean to you? What do you think the issues are? What’s important to know in order to keep safe?

Use a video camera, webcam, cell phone or the video function on your digital camera to film your project.

Express your thoughts in a PSA. Submit it to the contest. Win great prizes, and maybe even see your PSA on the Boys and Girls Club website!

Please note: This year’s contest is only open to Public Service Announcement entries.

There are lots of chances to win cool digital prizes!

  • You could win a prize pack of great digital gadgets!
  • Your club could win an amazing digital prize pack too!

Prizes will be awarded in both 12 and under and 13 to 18 age groups. First place winners in each category and age group will also win a digital prize pack for their Club, too!

The Digital Arts Contest is made possible through the generous support of Microsoft Canada Co. and its Unlimited Potential Community Programs, in conjunction with Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada (BGCC). The Digital Arts Program is part of Cantech, a collaboration between BGCC and Microsoft Canada to provide digital technology tools to Boys and Girls Club youth across Canada.
