Give and Get
Through its innovative Give and Get program, Gap Inc. has continued its generous support of the Boys and Girls Clubs, donating more than $250,000 to BGCC. Held over several days in November 2008, and again in March, July and November 2009, Give and Get allows selected shoppers to receive discounts at any Gap Inc. store, including Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy, and designate a charity to receive a portion of their sale.
Gap CareerLaunch Grants
For the past seven years, Gap Inc. has partnered with BGCC on a number of national initiatives to benefit kids, continuing in 2009 with the launch of the GAP CareerLaunch Grants. A pre-employment program made possible by the Gap Foundation, these grants will go towards starting CareerLaunch programming, which gives youth aged 13-18 important career preparation skills and helps them find a profession to meet their abilities and interests. This program is being piloted in four Clubs in 2009, Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie, Boys and Girls Club of Oshawa, Boys and Girls Club of Dartmouth and Boys and Girls Club of St. John.
Shoppers and Camp Old Navy Give Back to BGCC!
From June 5 - July 2, 2009, shoppers at Old Navy supported Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada simply by purchasing Camp Old Navy products. For every Camp Old Navy purchase made, Old Navy donated 5% to Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. In addition, 64 Old Navy locations across Canada displayed donation boxes and encouraged customers to make a donation as they made their purchase.
In addition, club youth from across Canada will once again have the opportunity to participate in Camp Old Navy, an exciting job-shadowing event. This program is a tremendous opportunity for youth to gain valuable experience inside professional work environments. Camp Old Navy is a volunteer project that supports your career exploration programming. This program is made possible through BGCC's partnership with Gap Foundation. Club members will experience behind-the-scenes processes and hands-on training in retail management, sales and merchandising. |
