Being accurately informed on what is real and fake will allow them to stay safe and aware, make good digital choices, and protect their private information.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cSocial media plays a major role in my day to day life, and in society as a whole. An opportunity to learn about hidden dangers that aren\u2019t often spoken of is exciting. I look forward to it.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Isaac K., BGCW member, Lead UP youth volunteer<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"  _builder_version=\"3.19.3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bgccan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Winnipeg_Photo_2.jpg\"  \/><img decoding=\"async\"  _builder_version=\"3.19.3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bgccan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Winnipeg_Photo_3.jpg\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s Talk Digital aligns well with the core values of Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg, as a promoter and advocate for youth.\u00a0 Youth at BGCW have already been active through Lead UP (funded by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/youth\/canada-service-corps.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada Service Corps<\/a>), acting as community leaders and volunteers to build capacity in their own communities through multicultural and alumni events, in addition to projects to help the homeless.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s Talk Digital will help the Club build relationships with partner schools through the new Youth United Chapters, as well as bring youth together in BGCW locations across Winnipeg. Reaching out to newcomers and youth from Indigenous backgrounds will help them share information with vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cSocial media is\u00a0 rampant in today\u2019s day and age and youth are the number one users.
