Cette initiative nationale offrira une plateforme visant \u00e0 favoriser le leadership des jeunes et \u00e0 leur procurer un soutien<\/em><\/p>\n

L\u2019organisme Repaires jeunesse du Canada, en partenariat avec Hyundai Canada, a le plaisir d\u2019annoncer le lancement de l\u2019initiative \u00ab\u00a0Jeune leader de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb soulignant le leadership et les r\u00e9alisations des jeunes dans les Repaires jeunesse \u00e0 travers le pays.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Les jeunes contribuent activement \u00e0 la construction de notre avenir collectif. Partout \u00e0 travers le monde, de jeunes leaders font entendre leur voix \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle communautaire sur des enjeux qui nous touchent tous \u00bb, affirme Owen Charters, pr\u00e9sident-directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Repaires jeunesse du Canada. \u00ab\u00a0Nous sommes reconnaissants envers Hyundai Canada pour son aide dans la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une plateforme permettant aux jeunes leaders des Repaires jeunesse de repr\u00e9senter la jeunesse canadienne, en plus de d\u00e9fendre les enjeux qui comptent pour les enfants et adolescents et de redonner \u00e0 leur communaut\u00e9. \u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00c0 compter de septembre, les jeunes de 15 \u00e0 18 ans des Repaires jeunesse pourront proposer leur candidature \u00e0 titre de \u00ab\u00a0Jeune leader de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb en soumettant un document \u00e9crit et une vid\u00e9o pr\u00e9sentant leurs r\u00e9alisations, leur implication b\u00e9n\u00e9vole et leur leadership au sein de leur Repaire jeunesse, de leur \u00e9cole et de leur communaut\u00e9. Le d\u00e9p\u00f4t des candidatures se terminera en novembre, alors que six \u00ab\u00a0Jeunes leaders de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb r\u00e9gionaux seront s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s en f\u00e9vrier par un jury. Apr\u00e8s avoir particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des s\u00e9ances de formation sur le leadership, avoir pris la parole en public, avoir assist\u00e9 \u00e0 une formation sur les m\u00e9dias et le r\u00e9seautage, les six \u00ab\u00a0Jeunes leaders de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb r\u00e9gionaux seront ensuite invit\u00e9s \u00e0 effectuer une deuxi\u00e8me soumission. La deuxi\u00e8me ronde d\u2019\u00e9valuation permettra de s\u00e9lectionner un grand gagnant \u00e0 titre de \u00ab\u00a0Jeune leader de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb de Repaires jeunesse du Canada.<\/p>\n

En plus de suivre une formation sur le leadership, les six \u00ab\u00a0Jeunes leaders de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb r\u00e9gionaux recevront chacun un ordinateur portable personnel et une bourse de 2 000 $ pour leurs \u00e9tudes postsecondaires, tandis que le grand gagnant national du titre de \u00ab\u00a0Jeune leader de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb recevra une bourse suppl\u00e9mentaire de 8 000 $. Le Repaire jeunesse de chaque gagnant recevra \u00e9galement un financement en soutien \u00e0 leurs programmes de leadership jeunesse.<\/p>\n

Les \u00ab\u00a0Jeunes leaders de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb r\u00e9gionaux et le \u00ab\u00a0Jeune leader de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb national s’engagent, durant deux ans, \u00e0 agir \u00e0 titre d’ambassadeurs des Repaires jeunesse aux niveaux local et national, incluant des participations virtuelles et en personne \u00e0 des allocutions, des entretiens avec les m\u00e9dias et des initiatives de r\u00e9seautage.<\/p>\n

Beginning in September, Club youth ages 15 \u2013 18 can apply for Youth of the Year by submitting a written essay and video that showcases their achievements, service, and leadership to their Club, their school, and their community. Applications will close in November and six Regional Youth of the Year will be selected in February by a judging panel. After participating in leadership training sessions, including public speaking, media training, and networking, the six Regional Youth of the Year will then be asked to complete a second submission. The second round of judging will determine one final winner, who will serve as Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada\u2019s National Youth of the Year.<\/p>

In addition to leadership training, the six Regional Youth of the Year will each be awarded a personal laptop and a $2,000 scholarship to apply to their post-secondary education, while the National Youth of the Year winner will be awarded an additional $8,000 scholarship. The Boys and Girls Club of each winner will also receive funding towards youth leadership programming.<\/p>

Both Regional Youth of the Year and the National Youth of the Year will make a two-year commitment to serve as ambassadors for Boys and Girls Clubs on a local and national level, which will include both digital and in-person participation in speaking engagements, media interviews, and networking opportunities.<\/p>
