Walking Together Toward Truth

Our Commitments

At BGC Canada, we strive to promote the understanding of the Truth of Indigenous Peoples in Canada every day. This means moving beyond ceremonial recognition to create Ethical Spaces where Indigenous and non-Indigenous perspectives meet in mutual respect. Our work is guided by principles of Equity, Anti-Racism, and Cultural Safety, ensuring that our programs and partnerships reflect Indigenous voices and values.

We are committed to:

  • Co-creating programs with Indigenous communities that are Indigenous-led and Indigenous-informed, honouring Protocols, traditions, and Ancestral Knowledge
  • Building authentic relationships with Communities, Families, Children, and Youth, grounded in respect and reciprocity
  • Creating Safe Third Places, spaces beyond home and school where all youth experience a true Place of Belonging, form Authentic Connections, and access Life-Changing Opportunities
  • Advocating for systemic change that addresses historical truths and ongoing inequities

Through these efforts, we aim to ensure that recognition is daily and intentional, fully appreciating the strength-led impact of Indigenous Peoples on the continued walk we all must take together. Our vision is a future where Indigenous youth thrive, lead, and shape our collective story, a future built on respect, shared responsibility, and hope.

Join Us on This Journey

Reconciliation is a shared responsibility. We invite you, our partners, communities, and supporters, to walk with us. Together, we can create spaces of belonging, amplify Indigenous voices, and build a Canada where every child and youth has the opportunity to thrive.
