Our Impact | BGC Canada

Our 3-year study on the impact of Clubs is the largest of its kind in Canada.

Since 2022, BGC Clubs have been engaged in a collective evaluation to prove and improve the impact of Clubs through our Learning and Impact initiative. To date, BGC Clubs have collected nearly 30,000 survey responses and conducted 1,246 one-to-one interviews with Club kids. Their responses reveal the significant impact the BGC Club experience has on young people across the country.

Our Approach

BGC Clubs provide intentional programs and services that are responsive to community needs.

BGC Clubs across the country are defined by the three common features of the Club experience, as articulated in BGC Canada’s theory of change: the Model for Success.

Place of Belonging

Clubs strive to create physical, emotional, and social environments that promote a sense of security and acceptance.

Life-Changing Opportunities

Clubs provide enriching programs and experiences where children and youth are challenged to try new things, discover their interests, and acquire new skills that lead to their growth and development.

Authentic Connections

Club staff cultivate strong, meaningful relationships with children and youth that are based on connection, caring, and support; leading to personal growth, confidence, and character development.

Our Outcomes

When kids come to a Club, their life is impacted in a positive way.

Our Model for Success is rooted in evidence and research on child and youth development, and identifies four key outcomes when a young person attends a BGC Club.
