Creating barrier-free opportunities for learning and development

For more than 20 years, Best Buy Canada has supported BGC Club youth in a variety of ways, including the Best Buy Youth Innovators Microgrants Program, support to Youth of the Year through technology, and helping young people to overcome barriers to academic success through post-secondary scholarships.

From innovation to technology to scholarships and microgrants, Best Buy Canada has an impact on BGC Clubs from coast to coast to coast—empowering young people to reach their full potential with confidence.

See how Best Buy has impacted our communities

More than 460 youth have received Best Buy Grade 10 scholarships to help them see post-secondary education as an achievable goal. On top of $4,000 towards tuition fees, recipients are also given gift cards to purchase personal laptops, and an additional bursary to cover post-secondary application fees.

Local BGC (Main Clubs) can operate out of several Service Locations (e.g. schools, community centres).

Canada’s first Best Buy Teen Tech Centre

Located at BGC South Coast BC in Vancouver, this is a space for youth to develop digital skills from 3D printing, photography, graphic design, coding, STEM, music studios, and more. With the help of staff and peers, youth can work on projects meaningful to them—encouraging expression through technology.
