THE ISSUE

Employment is getting harder for young Canadians.

Learning loss, systemic barriers, and increased automation make it difficult for young people to find and keep jobs—especially those in equity-seeking groups. With the right resources and opportunities, youth can launch their careers with confidence.

14.6%

is the current youth unemployment rate in Canada, the highest it has been since 2010.

850,000+

youth ages 15-24 aren’t working or enrolled in education and training.

66%

of Canadians ages 18-25 had difficulties finding summer or part-time jobs.

HELP US HELP KIDS

BGC Canada’s Learning & Development Fund provides BGC Clubs with the resources they need to give kids a brighter future.

When Club staff are given more opportunities, they’re better equipped to support the youth they serve.

To amplify our efforts, we launched a new online learning platform: MyBGC.

Aimed at Club youth aged 13 to 21, Club staff, and other youth audiences, this online hub houses BGC Canada’s self-directed programs, activities, and resources. This includes youth employment, financial literacy, and mental health programs and activities to prepare youth for life after school.

Investing in this tool allows BGC Canada to offer learning and development opportunities that can have a transformative impact on both the staff and the youth we serve.
