Supporting Clubs for over eighteen years, Carrie began her career at BGC Canada as the Pacific Regional Director, working with Clubs in British Columbia and the Yukon. In 2015, Carrie took on the Operating Standards and Peer Review process and developed the Operational Excellence Committee to help guide this valuable work. While under her portfolio the Operating Standards were updated to reflect the current indicators of Club operational excellence and she moved the review process from paper to an on-line platform, she also developed training for Reviewers and Clubs, and championed the process to all Clubs and staff across the movement.
In 2017, the Pacific and Western Regions merged, and Carrie became the Western Regional Director, expanding her portfolio of Club support to include the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
In 2020, Carrie spearheaded our Learning and Impact Project and is proud of the great work that Clubs across the country are doing to prove and improve their programs and services to children, youth, and families. Learning and Impact has become the largest study of its kind across Canada.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Carrie’s first experience at a Club was when she wandered down the street into the Rundle Boys and Girls Club. She found herself dropping into the neighbourhood Club on occasion and recalls that her most memorable time was attending summer camp.
Upon completing her undergraduate degree at MacEwan University, Carrie began her not-for-profit career as the Assistant Executive Director at Edmonton Northwest Out School Care. Carrie relocated to Kelowna, BC in 2003 where she worked as a Paediatric Case Manager, and then the Director of Operations, for BrainTrust Canada. She soon found her way back to the Club when she was hired on at Boys and Girls Clubs of British Columbia in 2008. Carrie loves being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, gardening, canoeing, camping, or just walking on the beach.
