A recent study found that children and youth participating in BGC afterschool programs showed higher math scores in grade 3 and more engagement in learning in grade 7.
Through the BGC Club experience, youth are given the chance to participate in educational and learning programs, and it helps them strengthen and acquire new skills. They are empowered to take control of their lives and make positive choices, putting them on the road to success and a brighter future. Through the introduction of the Learning & Development Fund, we are looking for partners to amplify our efforts.
Additionally, by providing Club staff members with opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge, they become better equipped to support the youth they serve. This improves outcomes for youth, including increased confidence, higher academic achievement, and enhanced social and emotional skills.
Aimed at Club youth aged 13 to 21, Club staff, and other youth audiences, this online hub houses BGC Canada’s self-directed learning modules, programs, tools, and activities. MyBGC also serves as a digital meeting place, providing opportunities for youth and staff nationwide to connect and collaborate.
Investing in this tool allows BGC Canada to offer learning and development opportunities that can have a transformative impact on both the staff and the youth we serve.
Partner with BGC Canada today and make a difference that truly matters.
BGC Canada acknowledges that our work spans many Territories and Treaty areas and we are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are with us today, those who have gone before us and the youth that continuously inspire us in the work that we do. BGC Canada’s mission statement is to provide safe, supportive places where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life. We recognize that these values are impossible to attain without the ongoing guidance and partnership with Indigenous peoples.
