We are excited to introduce the exceptional young leaders that make up Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada’s 2018 – 2019 National Youth Council!
Each member of the National Youth Council (NYC) is nominated by their local Club to represent youth interests at the national level. Together, the NYC works to ensure youth input into national initiatives and activities at Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada and beyond.
The NYC meets regularly by conference call to discuss upcoming events and youth issues. In February, they met in person in Toronto for the first time to begin planning for next year’s National Youth Forum, and meet with their subcommittees—communications, public policy, youth engagement, scholarships—to start developing ideas for their work in 2018. They 2019 National Youth Forum will be hosted in Montreal, and is based on a theme of self-expression and creativity.
Over the course of their terms, NYC members receive training on specific areas of interest, engage with a variety of experts on BGCC’s national team, and plan/participate in the National Youth Forum. We are very excited to see everything they have in store!
